Be the tech team small businesses rely on.
Most small businesses will never have a developer, an IT department or a CTO. We are the team they call instead. We are looking for people who want to be that for them, and who would rather shape their role than fill one.
What we actually do
The work is never “a website.” It’s the dispatcher’s whole morning.
Small businesses run on a few people doing too many jobs. We find the part of the day that fights them, build the software that fixes it, and stay on as the people they trust with everything technical after that.
- 01
We listen first
Before anything gets built, we sit with the people doing the work: the dispatcher, the office manager, the owner at 10 PM. The real problem is rarely the one on the first call.
- 02
We build the real thing
Not a slide deck or a throwaway prototype. Working software that runs a piece of the business, live in a month or less, at a price agreed before we start.
- 03
We stay their tech team
When it breaks, grows or needs to talk to something new, they call us. We are the developers, the IT desk and the person who says “here is what I would do.”
- Live
- in a month or less
- Fixed
- price before we build
- Owned
- clients keep the code
- Direct
- the builder talks to the owner
The mind it takes
Skills get you in the room. This keeps you here.
Six things we look for more than any résumé line. Flip a card to see who it fits, and who it doesn’t.

This or that? Go with your gut.

How to apply
Your role isn’t listed. Build it.
We don’t post job titles, because the best people we could add don’t fit one. Tell us who you are, then answer five questions out loud. Talk it through the way you would across a table. Add a résumé or anything you have made, and hear back from a person within 24 hours.

Something you made
Tell us about something you built, fixed or shipped that you are proud of. What exactly was your part, and what would you do differently now?
- 2
Your role
Write the role you would want here. Give it a title, describe a typical week, and say what you would own.
- 3
A gap you see
Look at what Lawlor Solutions does today. Where do you see a gap, or something you would improve or add?
- 4
Energy and growth
What work gives you energy, what drains you, and what do you want to be better at a year from now?
- 5
Your first 90 days
If you started next month, what would you deliver in your first 90 days, and how would we both know it worked?
Before you start
Fair questions.
Why record answers instead of writing them?
Because the job is mostly talking to people and thinking out loud. We want to hear how you reason, not how well you edit. Notes are fine; a script is not needed.
Do I need to be a developer?
No. Small businesses need design, operations, support, sales and project sense as much as code. Tell us where you add value and we will tell you honestly whether it fits.
How long does it take?
Most people spend 20 to 40 minutes. Each answer can run up to 10 minutes, but shorter and specific beats long and general.
Can I stop and come back?
Yes. Everything saves as you go. Close the tab and come back on the same device, or use the link we email you to continue anywhere.
What happens after I send it?
A person listens to every answer. You will hear back within 24 hours, whatever the answer is. If there is a fit, the next step is a conversation.
Who hears my recordings?
Only the people at Lawlor Solutions who review applications. We never share them or use them for anything else.
