About the client
Food ABCs is a multi-platform personal health-data and analytics platform. It helps users bring information together, explore their own data, and make that information available to compatible third-party applications. The product began with nutrition tracking and grew into a broader data and engagement experience.

The challenge
The original need was practical: make nutrition logging more understandable and less manual. Users needed to search USDA food data, build a meal visually on a digital plate, and see relevant nutrition information, including PRAL, in one place. The experience was designed for nutrition-data exploration, not medical guidance.

The solution
The first workflow
Lawlor Solutions built the first meal-log prototype quickly around USDA food search, a visual digital plate, and a clear view of the available nutrition information. That focused starting point made the core interaction tangible before the product expanded.
What real use showed
The meal experience grew to include more detailed data, an A-to-F meal score, and AI-assisted meal analysis that provides nutrition and portion estimates. Those AI results are estimates for personal data exploration. They do not diagnose users or provide medical advice.
How the software expanded
From there, Food ABCs grew into a broader personal-data and engagement platform. Users can optionally connect Apple Health and Health Connect data, explore activity and user-provided wellness information such as weight, BMI, blood pressure, and sleep, and take part in educational games and social features including friends, visible progress, badges, rewards, and energy. Participation programs and incentives can support engagement, while an open API makes available data accessible to compatible third-party applications.
